This week promised to be one for the ages with the forecast showing winds easing off and big spring tides on the cards.

Eventually the river dropped and towards September the 2000th fish of the season was landed.

Its been a really enjoyable and encouraging week at East Ranga.

In the second week of August the weather turned in our favour.

The last week of July and the first weeks of August are prime time on East Ranga

The large group of friends fishing 19-24 July had a fantastic 5 days.

The last week of July proved very encouraging indeed with lots of good quality fish running into the river.

We have now been treated to some truly excellent fishing

At 10 July the average of 12 fishers have landed 145 salmon for the season.

The first 10 days of the East Ranga season saw generally nice fishing conditions – clear water, a good height and not too much wind.

20 June saw the opening of the 2025 East Ranga season with 8 fish landed.
