COSmoledo atoll

COSMOLEDO ECO CAMP IS LOCATED 1000KM SOUTH WEST OF MAHE, AND IS ACCESSED VIA A 2.5HR FLIGHT TO ASTOVE ATOLL, THEN A 70 MINUTE BOAT RIDE TO COSMOLEDO’S WIZARD ISLAND. THE CAMP IS SUPER COMFORTABLE BUT MINIMUM IMPACT, TOTALLY REMOVABLE, NOTHING HERE LEAVES A SCAR.

THIS PLACE RE-DEFINES REMOTE & WILD FISHING

Cosmoledo is famous for GTs, a.k.a. giant trevally. They patrol its flats, reef line and lagoon in large numbers looking for prey to attack. Their ferocity, speed and strength make hunting these hunters a true adrenaline sport. To stand your best chance you need large pattern flies attached to 80-100lb tippet and launched on an 11 or 12 weight fly rod. When hooked you really do need to “fight” a GT, so if you plan on hooking a big one pack 300+ yards of strong backing on a reel with a serious drag system.

As a changeup to the heavy gear you can also stalk sighted trophy bonefish in the 5-9lb range, pursue permit on huge blue-white flats, triggerfish on coral and turtle grass. Not to mention lagoon full of snapper, grouper and other species eager to engulf a fly, and the ‘outside’ where sailfish, tuna and the ‘unknown’ reside!

VENTURE INTO THE BLUE

Cosmoledo hosts not only spectacular flats and blue water fishing, but also a rare bird population including the Seychelles’ largest breeding colonies of Boobies and the last viable population of Brown Booby. Add to this phenomenal scuba diving, much of which in and around this vast atoll has yet to be explored, and your blue safari can be an “under, in & out of water” experience.

COSMO ECO PODS

The 8 twin bedded Eco Pods, ingeniously re-crafted from containers, are extended island side to feature ensuite w/c & outdoor shower and shore side by a large deck on which to enjoy a private drink and take in the days events. They are totally removable and impact free, as with the other structures that comprise the Cosmoledo Eco Camp.

THE BIG TENT

Cosmoledo Eco Camp has an exceptional gathering and entertainment area, consisting of a large tent with bare beach floors, a dining area, a congenial lounge and a relaxed bar with a wide selection of drinks on offer. This leads directly to the beach where campaign chairs in the sand are the setting for sundowners to lubricate tales of fish landed and lost.

GUIDES & STAFF

Such a remote destination requires experienced, hardworking staff on and off the water and a true team environment. The guides at Cosmoledo are selected not only for their fishing & boating skills, but equally for their guest care. When fishers are off the water the Eco Camp staff are friendly, attentive and take pride in serving delicious, fresh meals.
