SANDÁ

Sandá is one of the jewels of the THISILFJORDUR BAY. From SANDAFOSS to the SEA the river is 12kms of pristine runs and crystal clear POOLS. This region is known for it’s bigger fish and Sandá is no exception.

SANDÁ offers the chance of big fish in clean water either hitching a little run or spotting and targeting fish in deeper water. With a strong run of multi sea winter fish this is a great river for bigger fish on light tackle.

The FISHING

Sanda offers an excellent opportunity to fish the hitch in clear water pools. Fished by 4 rods the river has two distinct areas. The lower river is easily accessed with pools that are easy to read. The upper river requires a bit more effort to access but mush can be fished from the bank. The river has a great run of multi sea winter fish and as the season progresses a good number of grilse also run the river.

SANDA LODGE

Sanda comes with a well appointed 4 twin bedroom lodge that sleeps up to 8 people. The kitchen lends itself to self catering with a sun deck and BBQ grill provided. The nearby village of Thorsofn has a grocery store as well as an Icelandic liquor store. The lodge is well located close to the fishing and is easily accessed from the main road.

GUIDES

Whilst easily accessed with a 4x4 taking a guide is recommended as local knowledge and equipment is invaluable. One to two guides are available on request and they will be able to help with tactics for every pool.
